Secret Agent Gel - Submersible EP

Secret Agent Gel returns with six tracks of UK Funky and Afro-house-influenced house.

The EP kicks off with “Mumbai”, an urgent roller full of tension, epitomized by alarm bells and grinding leads. Fun fact, the “Mumbai” vocal sample is actually a woman blowing a goodbye kiss.

Things slow down with “Right Down the Alley”, a slower shuffler with an ethereal vibe. Uplifting melodies carry you along as rhythms and layers build.

“Stoop Rum”, full of Roska-influenced percussion, screams, literally, with squealing synths and the sounds of a young woman egging us on.

“Back of the Pack” returns us to Gel’s take on Afro-house, a bit slower and more emphasis on tone and space than rhythm. This tune conjures images of proud hunters celebrating a successful day at sunset.

Finishing the EP, “Elastic” is a dark and sneaky tune that brings together the two minds of this EP. The beats are intricate but dance playfully under big-sky pads and thunderous effects.

And then there’s the bonus track, “Kitty Riddim”. Love it or hate it, the beat slaps and the bass is big and dirty. If you want to get people’s attention on the dancefloor, this one is for you.
